Richard Barton “Dick” Draper
1935 – 2022
If you questioned Dick Draper on any specified day how he was, you’d most likely hear an enthusiastic, “Great.” And he was! It was all a make a difference of perspective. Increasing up on his grandparent’s farm in Epping, New Hampshire, working as a plane mechanic in the Maritime Corp, and a lengthy vocation providing significant equipment, he was often thankful for something. His skilled job, which moved he and the spouse and children back again and forth across the region, bundled at any time-growing product sales and management tasks at Rental Equipment Company, Thor Electrical power Device, Grove Crane, Bucyrus-Erie, MBK Building Products Organization, and culminated as vice president and common supervisor of Sakai The us. In retirement Dick was hardly ever happier than when underneath the hood of a auto, rebuilding engines and aiding pals do the exact.
A partner, father, brother and close friend, he laughed easily, cherished deeply, mentored younger staff, taught nieces and nephews how to generate and how to drink in equal measure, and relished easy splendor just about everywhere. He masterfully organized business enterprise excursions to each and every locale his young children, Bart, Sherilyn, Sheila and Bruce lived, just to check up on them and love a fantastic food with each other. Dick also liked shut associations with his siblings, Fred, Ada, Joy, Sandy and Raymond. He referred to Yvonne, his spouse of 65 years, as “my bride” until finally the close, often expressing appreciation for her partnership, advocacy and care as he fought a unusual form of vasculitis, and later dementia. He was generous with declaring “I adore you” and “I’m proud of you” to his small children and grandchildren, Brentley, Maizie, Nora, Emaline and Josey. A charismatic people-man or woman, he viewed as his customers and organization associates not just colleagues, but friends, and everybody whose existence he touched has a tale about him…most involving a generous splash of Scotch and a wonderful offer of laughter.
